About Us
We are a Planning and Building Regulation consultancy and Construction Contractor seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounts & Administrator to join our team. This role will work closely alongside the Directors and play a key part in ensuring the smooth running of our financial and administrative operations.

Role Overview
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts processes, and administrative functions. This is a varied, hands-on role requiring strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities across both finance and administration.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts & Finance:

Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions, including accounts payable and receivable
Chase overdue payments and manage credit control processes
Prepare quotes and invoices
Process supplier invoices and ensure timely payments
Reconcile bank statements and manage cash flow effectively
Assist in the preparation of financial reports and budgets
Compile, check, and submit VAT returns
Administer payroll services
Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards
Conduct regular checks and audits to ensure data accuracy
Utilise accounting software such as Xero and Sage for efficient record-keeping

Administration:

Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and documentation
Support the recruitment process, including posting job adverts, scheduling interviews, and liaising with candidates
Assist with onboarding and induction of new employees
Administer employee contracts, offer letters, and administrative correspondence
Monitor staff attendance, holiday records, and absence reporting
Support performance review processes and staff appraisals
Ensure compliance with legislation and company policies
Assist in developing and updating policies and procedures
General office administration and support to Directors

Requirements

Accounts:

Proven experience as a Bookkeeper, Accounts Manager, or similar role
Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices
Proficiency in Xero and Sage accounting software
Experience managing accounts payable and receivable processes
AAT qualification (or equivalent) desirable
Strong IT skills, including Excel

General:

Excellent attention to detail and organisational abilities
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Commercial awareness and understanding of business operations
Professional and confident telephone manner
Administration and organisational skills

Pay: £28,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
