Support Worker – Learning Disabilities Supported Living

Plumstead, Greenwich
£12.71 per hour plus sleep-in allowance
36 hours per week (Full Time)
Shifts 0800-2200 with a sleep in

Homesdale Supported Living is looking for a caring, enthusiastic and motivated Support Worker to join our friendly team supporting three gentlemen who live in their own supported living home in Plumstead.

This is not a role where you will spend your day sitting in an office. The people we support enjoy busy and active lives and are regularly out enjoying everything their local community has to offer. Whether that's going to the cinema, bowling, swimming, eating out, visiting garden centres, attending BBQs, going to the gym, gaming, shopping, or exploring new places, you'll be supporting people to live life to the fullest.

The people we support are semi-independent and require encouragement and support with daily living tasks, developing life skills, maintaining their home, managing routines, accessing the community, and achieving their personal goals.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Support Worker, you'll build positive relationships with the people you support and help them maintain independence, make choices, and achieve the things that are important to them.

Your role will include:

Supporting people to access community activities, hobbies and social opportunities
Encouraging independence with cooking, cleaning, shopping and household tasks
Supporting people to maintain friendships, family relationships and community connections
Assisting with health appointments and promoting healthy lifestyles
Supporting individuals to achieve personal goals and develop new skills
Completing daily records and support documentation using digital systems
Working collaboratively with families, professionals and colleagues
Promoting dignity, choice, rights and independence at all times
Providing personal care when required, in a respectful and person-centred way

Who We're Looking For

We're more interested in your values and attitude than previous experience.

You will be:

Caring, patient and reliable
Positive and enthusiastic about supporting people to live independently
A good communicator who can build meaningful relationships
Able to work professionally and maintain appropriate boundaries
Flexible and willing to work a variety of shifts, including sleep-ins
Committed to safeguarding and delivering high-quality support

Experience supporting people with learning disabilities, autism, mental health needs, epilepsy or behaviours of concern would be beneficial but is not essential.
