Communicator Guide | Treorchy & Pontypridd | 8 hrs/week | Permanent

Do you use BSL and want to put your skills to use?

Here at Sense, we support people with complex disabilities to live the life they choose.

We're looking for a Communicator Guide based between Treorchy (CF42) and Pontypridd (CF37) to join our team on a permanent basis. Working 8 hours per week; Mondays 12pm-4pm and one other suitable afternoon starting after 1:30pm. You'll be supporting adult clients with sensory loss to do the things that matter to them, in a way that works for them.

BSL at user level or Level 2 and above is essential for this role. Previous experience in a similar position is a real advantage, as is an understanding of a range of health conditions. A full UK driving licence and use of your own vehicle with business insurance is also essential.

We are looking for someone who is:

A BSL user or holds Level 2 and above
A confident, friendly communicator who puts people at ease
Experienced in or passionate about supporting people with sensory loss
A driver with their own vehicle and business insurance

This role might include supporting people with:

Shopping and attending appointments
Socialising and community activities
Telephone calls and managing correspondence
Day-to-day tasks that support independent living
