Higher Level Teaching Assistant

Salary: £26,824 to £29,064 per annum pro rata (£10,901.01 to £11,811.33 per annum actual)

Grade: F SCP 8-13

Contract Type: Temporary

Vacancy Hours: 17.5 hours per week, Term Time Only + 5 days

Location: Pickering, North Yorkshire

Additional roles:

General Teaching Assistant

Salary: £24,796 to £25,185 per annum pro rata (£7,197.75 to £7,310.67 per annum actual)

Grade: C SCP 3-4

Vacancy Hours: 12.5 hours per week, Term Time Only + 5 days

Midday Supervisory Assistant

Salary: £24,796 per annum pro rata (£1,407.42 per annum actual)

Grade: B SCP 3

Vacancy Hours: 2.5 hours per week, Term Time Only

As HLTA you will be required to cover Planning, Preparation and Assessment time in Early Years and Key Stage One. You will be required to support children under the direction of other teachers and leaders in school.

As GTA you will be required to support children in Early Years and Key Stage One under the direction of the class teacher, which may mean at times that you are working with children who require further support.

As an MSA you will be required to support the team in the lunch hall and in the playground to ensure a caring and safe environment. You would be required to work indoors and outdoors when supervising children to ensure their safety at all times.

Our school is a Reception Lead Network school, and we take great pride in our Early Years provision. At the centre of our approach is a nurturing, language-rich and inclusive environment where play is recognised as the foundation for learning. Our skilled practitioners foster children’s thinking through meaningful interactions and thoughtfully planned experiences. Open-ended and natural resources inspire curiosity, creativity and independence, while providing opportunities to support and extend children’s play. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work alongside a dedicated and experienced team committed to giving every child the very best start in life.

The MSA post will be offered on a fixed term basis until 23 July 2027. The HLTA / GTA post will be offered on a fixed term basis until 26 July 2027 There may be an opportunity that the post is extended into the following academic year.
