Overview

Location: Remote (home-based) with initial training in Fleet, Hampshire preferred
Hours: Approximately 20-25 hours per week - potential of full time hours one day
Contract: Self-employed (£14-£16ph)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Private Medical Secretary to provide remote administrative support for a busy private practice. This is a home-based role for approximately 20-25 hours per week, with initial training ideally taking place in Fleet, Hampshire. Applicants based locally to Fleet are preferred for the training period, although the role will be remote thereafter.

The successful candidate will work on a self-employed basis and will provide comprehensive online administrative support, ensuring an efficient and professional service for patients, consultants and healthcare providers.

Essential Requirements

Previous experience as a Private Medical Secretary.
Alternatively, substantial experience in private patient bookings or medical appointment scheduling.
Experience managing a private practice for a consultant.
Excellent organisational and time management skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and confident using medical practice management systems. (Carebit is ideal)

Desirable

Carebit experience.
Knowledge of private healthcare pathways.
Experience with electronic patient record and practice management software.
Familiarity with consultant-led private practice administration, and experience with a surgical based practice would be ideal.
