Full job description

Job Summary

As the first point of contact for our clients, you will play an important role in creating a welcoming atmosphere while ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the reception area. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, strong organisational abilities, and a passion for delivering outstanding customer service.

Key Responsibilities

Welcome clients warmly and provide a professional first impression.
Answer telephone calls, emails, and customer enquiries promptly.
Book, amend, and manage appointments using the booking system.
Process customer payments and issue receipts.
Maintain accurate customer records while handling confidential information responsibly.
Promote and sell spa treatments, memberships, gift vouchers, and retail products.
Explain treatments, packages, and current promotions to customers.
Encourage satisfied clients to leave online reviews and respond professionally to customer feedback where required.
Keep the reception area clean, organised, and presentable at all times.
Assist with opening and closing procedures.
Restock retail displays, towels, refreshments, and reception supplies.
Help maintain cleanliness throughout the premises, including reception areas, treatment rooms, bathrooms, changing areas, and staff areas.
Carry out light cleaning duties, including cleaning bathrooms, sanitising surfaces, emptying bins, mopping floors, and ensuring high hygiene standards are maintained.
Work closely with therapists and other team members to ensure appointments run smoothly.
Support general administrative duties as required.

Skills & Experience Essential

Previous experience in a receptionist, front-of-house, customer service, hospitality, spa, salon, or retail role.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
Confident using computers, email, and booking systems.
Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
Reliable, punctual, and well organised.
Professional appearance and positive attitude.
Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.

Desirable

Experience working in a spa, beauty salon, wellness centre, or hospitality environment.
Experience with appointment booking software.
Sales or retail experience.
Knowledge of spa or beauty treatments.
Ability to speak additional languages is an advantage.
