Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to join our busy hospitality team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of our kitchen environment, supporting the culinary staff to ensure smooth daily operations. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in gaining experience within the hospitality industry, particularly in food preparation and kitchen management. The role is suitable for those with a keen eye for detail, a strong work ethic, and a passion for delivering high standards of cleanliness and organisation.

Duties

Washing and sanitising dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment to ensure hygiene standards are met.
Assisting with basic food preparation tasks as directed by chefs or kitchen managers.
Maintaining cleanliness of all kitchen surfaces, floors, and storage areas to prevent cross-contamination and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
Organising storage areas for ingredients, utensils, and equipment for efficient workflow.
Supporting the culinary team during busy service periods by providing timely assistance with cleaning or prep work.
Collecting and disposing of waste materials in accordance with environmental policies.
Ensuring all health and safety guidelines are adhered to at all times within the kitchen environment.

Skills

Experience or interest in food preparation, cooking, or hospitality environments such as restaurants, hotels, or catering services.
Knowledge of kitchen safety procedures and hygiene standards.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy service times.
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
Willingness to learn new skills related to culinary operations and kitchen management.
Previous experience in hospitality or serving roles is advantageous but not essential; enthusiasm and commitment are most valued.
