Overview

Marina la Cucina in Porthmadog is seeking a talented and passionate Cook/Chef to join our team. We specialise on Italian cousine with fresh ingredients. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and cooking, with experience working in busy kitchen environments. This role offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your culinary skills, contribute to creating delicious meals, and ensure high standards of food safety and presentation. Candidates should be organised, efficient, and dedicated to delivering exceptional dining experiences.

Duties

Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to recipes and quality standards
Ensure all food is prepared in a timely manner to meet service demands
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing up and sanitising work surfaces
Follow food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times
Assist with meal planning and ingredient ordering as needed
Monitor stock levels and report shortages or issues promptly
Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations
Serve meals efficiently while maintaining excellent customer service standards
Assist in training new kitchen staff and interns as required

Qualifications

Proven experience in food preparation and cooking, ideally within a restaurant or catering environment with Italian cousine experiences.
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene
Strong organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
Experience with meal preparation across various cuisines is desirable
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team
Previous restaurant experience is preferred but not essential for enthusiastic learners
A genuine passion for culinary arts and creating high-quality dishes

This role provides an excellent platform for aspiring chefs or experienced cooks looking to develop their skills further within a professional setting.

Pay: £13.00-£14.00 per hour
