Internal Salesperson

Job ref: 2206

Job Summary:

Reporting directly to the management, you are responsible for maintaining both existing and potential custom with a particular focus on the further development of new business, in line with our aim to achieve sustainable and profitable growth for the future.

Regular direct contact with existing and potential customers, generating enquiries, progressing quotations and this securing business with a level of service exceeding our customers’ expectations.
Direct input and a responsibility to ensure that budget sales and margin is achieved as a minimum performance.
Manage your time and sales activities to your best ability and in line with the interests of the company at all times.
Attend sales meetings / product training / corporate functions as required by the management, which may occasionally be ‘after hours’.
Answering / dealing with telephone enquiries / queries / orders
Compiling / submitting / progressing customer quotations
Compiling / submitting / progressing stock and special supplier purchase orders
Maintaining and adhering to goods receiving administration procedures
General office / clerical / administration duties.
Assist with annual stock take
Hours of work to include Saturday mornings as required / scheduled by management.
Any other duties as required by the company.

Secondary duties include (in particular as departmental sickness / holiday cover):

Serving customers on the Trade Counter
Picking and packing orders for delivery
Loading of goods on to delivery vehicles
Unloading of goods received
Checking and putting into stock of goods received
General tidying / maintenance of office and stores areas
Driving of company vehicles for goods deliveries (subject to acceptance as company driver)
Loading and unloading of same.

All employees are expected to be flexible in their duties and responsibilities and may be asked to perform other duties which reasonably correspond to the general character of their job and their level of responsibility.

Person Specification (desirable, but not essential):

Relevant Industry experience
Excellent communication skills, including the ability to listen and effectively verbalise ideas, with proven ability to influence
Excellent customer facing and interpersonal skills
Demonstrate strong organisational and efficiency skills
Proficient in computer software packages (Google, Word, Excel)
