Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Apprentice to join our childcare team. This paid position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in developing their skills in early childhood education and management within a nurturing environment. The successful candidate will support experienced staff in caring for children, gaining valuable hands-on experience, and developing leadership qualities essential for future career progression.

Responsibilities

Assist with the supervision and care of children in a nursery or childcare setting
Support daily activities, including play, learning, and meal times
Help organise and facilitate educational activities suitable for various age groups
Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for children and staff
Observe and report on children's progress and behaviour to senior staff
Support with organisational tasks such as preparing materials and setting up activity areas
Develop communication skills through interaction with children, parents, and team members

Requirements

Experience with children or nursery work is desirable but not essential; a genuine interest in early childhood education is important
Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written
Ability to work well within a team, demonstrating leadership when appropriate
Management skills or leadership qualities are advantageous for future development roles
Childcare / early childhood education qualifications are a plus but not mandatory; relevant training will be provided during the apprenticeship
Valid driving licence preferred for roles involving transportation duties
Responsible, organised, and eager to learn in a supportive environment

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: £8.00 per hour
