Full job description

As a Class 2 HGV Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods to various destinations. Early starts are a regular part of the job, and you will need to organise your own workload and plan deliveries effectively. Additionally, this role involves working away from home Monday to Thursday on a regular basis, for which allowances are included. Shifts: Early starts, variable hours; Regular working away Monday to Thursday. Typical Responsibilities

Driving: Operate Class 2 vehicles in a safe and responsible manner, adhering to all relevant traffic regulations and company policies.
Delivery Planning: Efficiently plan and organize delivery schedules, considering time constraints, traffic conditions, and delivery priorities.
Load Management: Ensure that all goods are loaded securely and appropriately, taking into account weight distribution and vehicle capacity.
Documentation: Complete all required paperwork accurately, including delivery notes, logbooks, and any other relevant documentation.
Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct routine vehicle checks and report any defects or issues promptly. Maintain the cleanliness and roadworthiness of the vehicle.
Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, including professional interaction with clients and efficient handling of goods.
Communication: Maintain effective communication with the transport team, warehouse staff, and other relevant parties to ensure smooth operations.
Adherence to Regulations: Stay informed about and adhere to all relevant transportation regulations, ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
Working Away: Regularly work away from home Monday to Thursday, adhering to the company's policies and allowances provided.
