SENIOR HEAD CHEF

Wymondham Garden Centre | Full-Time | Salary dependent on experience

Full time position, working 40 hours a week.

7am-3.30.pm Working 2 out of 3 weekends. NO SPLIT SHIFTS OR EVENINGS.

We are looking for an experienced, creative and hands-on Senior Head Chef to join our busy kitchen team.

This is a key leadership role, responsible for the day-to-day running of our kitchen, leading and developing the team, and maintaining high standards of food, service and kitchen operations.

The Role

You will be responsible for:

Running the kitchen and overseeing the day-to-day operation
Leading, managing and motivating the kitchen team
Being hands-on and actively cooking during service
Creating exciting, fresh and seasonal dishes
Maintaining consistently high standards of food quality and presentation
Managing food preparation, ordering and stock control
Ensuring excellent food hygiene and health & safety standards
Training and developing members of the kitchen team
Managing kitchen rotas and staffing levels
Working closely with the Restaurant Manager and wider management team
Helping to develop our menus and introduce new ideas

About You

Previous experience as a Head Chef is essential – this is a must.

We are looking for someone who is:

A confident and experienced kitchen leader
Creative and passionate about food
Hands-on and happy to cook alongside the team
Able to lead by example, particularly during busy services
Organised and able to manage a busy kitchen effectively
A strong communicator who can motivate and develop their team
Passionate about maintaining high standards
Reliable, professional and able to work well under pressure
Keen to bring fresh ideas and creativity to our kitchen

This is not a role for someone looking to step up into their first Head Chef position. You will already have proven experience running a professional kitchen and managing a kitchen team.

Pay: From £33,000.00 per year
