Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and organised Patient Coordinator to join our healthcare team. This role involves managing patient appointments, maintaining accurate records, and providing exceptional customer service to ensure a smooth patient experience. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, experience working with System One, Rapid Health (although training will be provided), have experience in an administrative role within a medical setting. The position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to patient care while developing professional skills in a supportive environment.

Responsibilities

Coordinate patient appointments, ensuring efficient scheduling and follow-up.
Greet patients warmly and assist with check-in procedures.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records using electronic health record systems.
Communicate effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and external organisations via phone, email, and in person.
Manage incoming calls, enquiries, and appointment requests promptly and professionally.
Assist with the organisation of clinic operations to optimise workflow efficiency.

Experience

Proven administrative experience within a healthcare or medical environment is preferred.
Knowledge of medical terminology is advantageous.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
Experience delivering high-quality customer service in busy settings.
Good IT skills with the ability to adapt to new software systems quickly.
Demonstrated time management skills with the ability to handle multiple responsibilities efficiently. Working Hours

We are looking for a patient co-ordinator to cover between the hours of Monday-Friday 8-6.30pm based on the requirements of the role and coverage to support the team members, and have the flexibility to cover annual leave, training and sickness as and when required.
We are looking for a Patient Co-ordinator to work the following hours:
Monday 12-6pm
Wednesday 12-6pm
Thursday 8-2pm .
The surgery would consider 15 hours per week for this post, to fit in with the needs of the surgery for the right applicants
We are looking for someone who would be available to start within the next couple of weeks to cover who will be leaving soon. This overlap ensures a smooth handover and training period before they depart.

Pay: £12.96 per hour
