Job Description – Back of House Team Member

The Role

As a Back of House Team Member, you will play a vital role in delivering the quality, consistency, and speed that our customers expect. You will be responsible for preparing food and drinks to brand standards while maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment.

The ability to work calmly and effectively during busy periods is essential, ensuring customers receive their orders promptly without compromising on quality.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare all menu items in line with Karak Chaii recipes and standards.
Ensure food and drinks are prepared and served efficiently, with a target service time of 10 minutes.
Assist with the preparation of Karak Chaii's signature chai.
Maintain a clean, organised, and hygienic work area at all times.
Follow food safety procedures, including correct storage and stock rotation (FIFO – First In, First Out).
Ensure all opened products are correctly labelled and dated.
Complete daily, weekly, and deep cleaning tasks as scheduled.
Receive and check deliveries, ensuring products meet quality standards before storing them appropriately.
Support with washing up and maintaining kitchen equipment.
Work collaboratively with Front of House and fellow kitchen team members to deliver an excellent customer experience.
Follow all company policies, food hygiene regulations, and health & safety procedures.

Person Specification

We are looking for team members who demonstrate the following qualities:

Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Previous experience in hospitality, catering, or a similar food preparation role is desirable.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Willingness to learn and consistently follow brand standards and procedures.
Positive attitude and ability to work well as part of a team.
Reliable, punctual, and hardworking.
Flexible and willing to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays where required.
Passionate about food quality, cleanliness, and customer satisfaction.
Takes pride in maintaining high standards and contributing to the success of the business.
