Full job description

Saxonbury House Medical Group is looking for a part time medical secretary/administrator to join our existing team.

This role is part time at a minimum of 16 hours/week to include a Friday and one or two other days tbc. There are 3 other experienced part time medical secretaries forming an excellent team, ensuring cover across the week.

Pay rate is £13.11 per hour, four weeks holiday plus bank holiday allowance and paid sick pay.

The successful candidate will ideally be a competent audio typist and used to dealing with digital dictation. Experience of working in a GP practice or other healthcare setting is desirable but not essential.

Training will be given and the person will be working closely with our existing medical secretaries/administration team.

The role requires an excellent telephone manner, great interpersonal skills, computer literacy, high levels of accuracy and a determination to see tasks through to completion. Delivering excellent patient care is something the team have to achieve, as our doctors need to know that information received is communicated to our patients correctly, and that tasks set are completed to a high standard and in a timely manner.

We are an established GP Surgery providing Primary Care Services to the Crowborough area in East Sussex. We have a patient population of over 9,500 patients with 4 GP Partners and 3 Salaried GPs. As a teaching Practice we also have qualified doctors undertaking their GP rotation regularly. We have 3 Practice Nurses, 3 Health Care Assistants and an Advanced Nurse Practitioner.

Overtime is available for holiday cover, training and other absence.
