Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Commis Chef to join our Knights Hill Hotel kitchen team. The ideal candidate will assist in food preparation and cooking, ensuring high standards of quality and safety are maintained. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop culinary skills within a professional hospitality environment, working alongside experienced chefs to deliver exceptional dining experiences. The position is paid and suitable for individuals eager to expand their knowledge of food production and kitchen operations.

Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation and cooking of a variety of dishes according to established recipes and standards
Support the senior kitchen team in daily food production activities
Ensure all food safety and hygiene regulations are strictly followed at all times
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of workstations, utensils, and equipment
Contribute to the presentation of dishes, ensuring visual appeal aligns with company standards
Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations
Follow instructions from senior chefs regarding menu changes, special dietary requirements, and service priorities
Support in stock rotation, inventory control, and ordering supplies as needed

Experience

Previous experience in a professional kitchen or hospitality environment is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates
Knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety standards is advantageous
Familiarity with restaurant operations, food production processes, and serving procedures will be beneficial
A genuine passion for culinary arts and hospitality, with a keen eye for detail and quality assurance
