Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our vibrant team. In this role, you will play a vital part in providing compassionate care and support to adults in supported living, fostering their independence, development, and well-being. Your enthusiasm and person-centred approach will help create a positive environment where the people we support feel safe, valued, and empowered to reach their full potential. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in people's lives while developing your skills in caregiving, support planning, and advocacy.

Responsibilities

Deliver personalised support tailored to each individual's needs, ensuring their safety, dignity, and emotional well-being at all times
Assist individuals with daily living activities such as personal care, meal preparation, and recreational pursuits to promote independence
Support engagement in activities that encourage skill-building, community involvement, and social interaction
Provide guidance, encouragement, and positive reinforcement to build confidence and resilience
Collaborate with colleagues, families, and external professionals (social workers, healthcare providers) to develop and review support/care plans
Support individuals during outings, appointments, and community activities to ensure safety and enjoyment
Maintain accurate records of daily activities, progress notes, and any incidents or concerns in line with CQC requirements

Experience

Prior experience working with adults with learning disabilities, autism, mental health needs, or physical disabilities in a caregiving setting is highly desirable
Demonstrated ability to support and motivate individuals to build independence
Knowledge of person-centred care principles and best practices in supporting adults' needs
Understanding of the Mental Capacity Act and safeguarding adults is a strong plus
Excellent communication skills with the ability to build trusting, respectful relationships with the people we support and their families
Enhanced DBS check required
