Full job description

Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and experienced 3.5T Collection & Delivery Driver specialising in palletised goods. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely collecting and delivering items to various locations, ensuring timely and efficient service. This role requires a professional approach with excellent driving skills, a strong focus on safety, and the ability to handle heavy loads. Candidates must hold relevant driving qualifications and have prior experience in commercial driving or warehouse operations.

Duties

Safely operate a 3.5-tonne vehicle for collection and delivery of pallets to designated sites.
Load and unload goods, ensuring proper handling of heavy or bulky items.
Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues promptly.
Ensure all deliveries are completed within scheduled timeframes while maintaining high standards of customer service.
Maintain accurate records of deliveries, collections, and mileage logs.
Follow all health and safety regulations during operations to prevent accidents or damage.
Communicate effectively with clients and team members regarding delivery schedules or any unforeseen delays.

Skills

Proven experience as a delivery driver, preferably with knowledge of commercial driving regulations.
Valid driver’s licence suitable for a 3.5T vehicle, with a clean driving record.
Experience working in warehouse environments or handling heavy lifting tasks safely.
Strong organisational skills to manage schedules efficiently and ensure timely deliveries.
Excellent communication skills to liaise professionally with clients and team members.
Ability to operate vehicles safely under various conditions and adhere to road safety laws.
Physically fit to handle heavy loads and perform manual handling tasks as required.

This role offers an opportunity to work within a dynamic logistics team, contributing to efficient supply chain operations while maintaining high standards of safety and professionalism.
