Full job description

Stoddart's are a leading, independent Scottish beef processing company who deliver best quality Scottish beef to our loyal customer base.

We are expanding our Butcher team and recruiting skilled and semi-skilled Trimmers/Boners to support our operation in Broxburn. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to progress their skills within a Butcher team with training provided to support development.

In this role you will report to the Assistant Production Manager and be responsible for cutting, trimming and deboning beef to customer and site specifications.

This role is suitable for individuals with strong knife-handling skills, experience in the meat processing industry and a reliable work ethic.

Location: Broxburn

Hours: Monday to Friday 0600-1420 (37.33 hours per week)

Contract: Permanent, fully onsite

Pay: from £13.10 per hour (higher depending on experience) and paid weekly.

As Trimmer, your key duties will include:

· Cut, trim and debone meat to customer specifications on a paced production line

· Use knives, saws and other tools/machinery safely and efficiently

· Remove defects and excess fat from products

· Maximise yield and minimise waste

· Sort and organise products for packaging and distribution

· Adhere to all health & safety, food safety, hygiene and PPE standards

· Maintain a clean and organised work environment

Experience and Skills we are seeking:

Previous experience as a Trimmer, Boner, Butcher, Knife Operative or similar
Strong knife skills (training available for semi-skilled operatives)
Ability to work in a chilled production environment
Good communication and teamwork
Reliable, punctual and committed to safe working practices
