Full job description

Job Summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Commis Chef to join the brigade at our established 4-star hotel and 2 AA Rosette restaurant. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their culinary skills while working alongside an experienced and supportive team committed to producing high-quality dishes using fresh, seasonal ingredients.

Whether you are starting your career or have some kitchen experience and are looking to progress, this role offers excellent training and development within a professional kitchen environment.

The Role

Assist with the preparation and presentation of dishes to the high standards expected within a 2 AA Rosette kitchen.
Work alongside the Chef de Partie, Sous Chef and Head Chef to ensure smooth day-to-day kitchen operations.
Learn and develop skills across different sections of the kitchen.
Help with food preparation, stock rotation, food storage and waste management.
Maintain excellent food hygiene, cleanliness and health & safety standards at all times.
Support the wider kitchen team and contribute to a positive, professional working environment.

The Ideal Candidate

Previous kitchen experience is desirable but not essential.
A genuine passion for cooking and high-quality food.
Eagerness to learn and develop within a professional kitchen.
Good organisational and time-management skills.
Ability to work well under pressure as part of a team.
Positive attitude, reliability and a strong work ethic.
Good understanding of food hygiene and kitchen best practices.

Competitive salary of up to £27,000 per annum, depending on experience.
