What You’ll Be Doing…

As a Domestic Lead, you will help maintain a clean, safe, hygienic and welcoming home while supporting the smooth running of the laundry and domestic service. This role plays an important part in resident wellbeing by ensuring bedrooms, communal spaces, linen and personal clothing are cared for to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

Lead, support and coordinate the housekeeping team to ensure high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and presentation throughout the home.
Plan and manage daily cleaning schedules, rotas and task allocation.
Train, mentor and supervise team members, promoting safe and effective working practices.
Carry out quality audits and inspections to ensure compliance with infection control, health & safety and housekeeping standards.
Oversee infection prevention measures, including the correct use of PPE, cleaning chemicals and waste management procedures.
Manage stock levels of cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring resources are available and used efficiently.
Identify and report maintenance issues, risks and safety concerns.
Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with colleagues, managers and external inspectors.
Work collaboratively with care, maintenance and other departments to provide a safe, welcoming and comfortable environment for residents.

What We’re Looking For…

Experience in a housekeeping, cleaning or domestic role.
Strong organisational and leadership skills.
Good understanding of hygiene, infection control and health & safety.
Ability to supervise and support a small team.
Good communication and record-keeping skills.
Ability to prioritise workload and manage time effectively.

Desirable

Experience in a supervisory or lead role.
Experience within a care or healthcare environment.
Knowledge of CQC standards and regulatory expectations.
COSHH knowledge and experience managing cleaning chemicals.
