Full job description

We’re currently looking for a Container Control Clerk at our London Gateway Container Depot.

The successful candidate will be responsible for accurately and promptly recording all aspects of container movements, stock control, repairs, and other depot activities. They will maintain regular communication between the depot, our offices, customers, and both internal and external suppliers.

Additionally, the candidate will prepare reports as required and provide support to other team members by covering assigned tasks as needed.

Duties and responsibilities:

Comply with all company health and safety policies
Control of access and exit gates liaising with HGV drivers booking in and out of the depot
Record all equipment received and dispatched
Control of all container stocks and stock levels within the depot to meet the demands of the business
Input of container repair estimates, monitoring authorizations and updating repair records
Checking and processing of incoming/outgoing invoices
Monthly accounts check ensuring all data is processed and submitted accurately
Issue and reconcile depot equipment release via internal / external systems
Accurate & timely preparation of daily/weekly reports for MSC Geneva and UK Management

What we’re looking for:

Proven ability to manage and forward plan within a fast paced, demanding and constantly evolving environment
Ability to address and resolve day to day business issues with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
Good numeracy, literacy, and IT skills, including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel)
Be able to demonstrate a professional manner at all times
Is flexible and willing to adapt to changing workloads and shift requirements.
Is confident inputting data accurately while managing other tasks.
Can monitor and respond to emails promptly, ensuring all information is checked thoroughly.
Excellent communication and decision-making skills
Can efficiently and accurately book drivers onto and off the site.
Communicates clearly and professionally with drivers and depot colleagues.
Works well as part of a team while also being confident working independently
Has excellent attention to detail and maintains high levels of accuracy.
