Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Part Time Cook to join our team. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about food preparation and culinary arts, looking to contribute to a welcoming environment. The successful candidate will assist in preparing and serving meals, ensuring high standards of food safety and quality. This position offers flexible hours suitable for those seeking part-time employment within a supportive setting.

Duties

Prepare a variety of meals in accordance with recipes and organisational standards
Assist in the planning and organisation of daily meal services
Ensure all food is prepared safely, adhering to food safety regulations and hygiene standards
Cook and assemble dishes efficiently during busy service times
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing up and sanitising surfaces
Assist with inventory management, including stock rotation and ordering supplies as needed
Serve meals to customers or clients in a courteous and professional manner
Follow all health and safety guidelines to maintain a safe working environment

Requirements

Previous experience in food preparation or cooking within a commercial kitchen or restaurant environment is preferred but not essential
Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
Ability to work efficiently under pressure during peak times
Good organisational skills with attention to detail
Flexibility to work part-time hours, including some weekends if required
A positive attitude, team-oriented approach, and strong work ethic
Basic understanding of meal preparation techniques and culinary skills
