We are Gravity, where having fun matters!

In the heart of Liverpool ONE, Gravity Max is the UK’s biggest name in active entertainment. With attractions such as e-karting, bowling, VR, and darts. We also host Liverpool’s best roof terrace, and a great place to watch sport.

We’re excited to be recruiting for a General Manager with a creative flair to lead our Liverpool site. An engaging leader who can motivate and inspire a large team, empowering them to succeed, and creating a team environment where fun can thrive, and customers are priority.

Developing a confident team to deliver the business vision is a crucial part of this role, so we are looking for an adaptable leader who leads with a coaching first approach. Someone who is inquisitive, assertive, comfortable facing into challenging conversations with courage and care, who’s also happy to roll their sleeves up and deliver exceptional customer experience.

A strong background in the leisure or entertainment space would be ideal, but if you’ve been in a leadership position for a customer facing management role we’d love to hear from you.

To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate a thorough understanding of the commercial entertainment business. With strong financial skills, you will be able to show your experience in delivering sustained profit and growth. As a leader of a Gravity Max site, strong leadership skills are essential and proven experience in this area is a must.

Your key accountabilities and responsibilities

Deliver the site budget, through meticulous planning, managing costs, driving sales and protecting profit.
Accountable for the ensuring consistent delivery of customer and colleague experience.
Inform operational strategy recommendations, by feeding back findings from reviewing financials, operational successes and challenges, and team feedback.
Demonstrate exceptional leadership, by role modelling the business values and leadership behaviours.
Accountable for the recruitment, selection, onboarding and training of all team members.
Embed business values and culture into the team, ensuring a focus on growth and the wellbeing of the team is a top priority.

Your experience

A proven operational leadership history in a large leisure venue managing diverse teams.
A proven track record of attracting new customers and delivering consistently good guest experiences.
Experience of managing a P&L, including financial sales budgets and stock control – with the knowledge and experience to deep dive your figures and to really get under the skin of your financial operations.
A demonstratable track record of recruiting, developing, and retaining talent.
Strong people management skills, it isn’t just about sales, it’s also about looking after your team. Demonstrable experience in everything from interviewing to creating development plans for your team.

Your personal qualities

You are a motivator with strong leadership skills.
You can communicate effectively and vary your leadership style to suit the situation.
Able to influence and work collaboratively at all levels across the business.
Proactive organisational and time management skills.
Demonstrates respect for equality of opportunity and diversity and works to actively promote an inclusive work environment.
Knowledge of Health and Safety, Food and Consumer legislation and regulations.
Our sites trade 7 days per week, so some evening and weekend work is required as part of the role.
