We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Motor Vehicle Technician/ Mechanic to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of motor vehicles, ensuring they meet safety and quality standards. This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilise your mechanical expertise and customer service skills in a dynamic environment. The position involves working with a range of tools and equipment, including hand tools, power tools, and welding apparatus, to deliver high-quality service to our clients.

Station garage, a leading motor vehicle retailer in the North East, is known for our commitment to excellence and a supportive team environment. You will be working in a recently refurbished, air conditioned / heated workshop where no heavy/ engine work will be undertaken.

Responsibilities

Conduct thorough diagnostics using schematics and technical manuals to identify vehicle issues.
Perform repairs and maintenance on motor vehicles, including engine work, brake repairs, suspension servicing, and electrical system troubleshooting.
Utilise hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to carry out assembly, repair, and maintenance tasks efficiently.
Interpret technical drawings and schematics to ensure accurate repairs and modifications.
Assist with the installation of new components and equipment within vehicles.
Maintain detailed records of all work performed in accordance with company procedures.
Provide excellent customer service by explaining repair processes clearly and professionally.
Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and industry standards.

Experience

Proven experience as a Motor Vehicle Technician or similar role within the automotive industry.
Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to read schematics and technical diagrams accurately.
Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other specialised automotive repair tools.
Experience with vehicle assembly, maintenance, and equipment repair is highly desirable.
Excellent customer service skills with a professional approach when interacting with clients.
