Agency Decision Maker
Hours: 35 Hours Per Week
Contract: 3+ Month Temporary Contract
Location: Preston, PR1 8RE
Rate: £29.43 per hour (PAYE)

We're recruiting an Agency Decision Maker to provide expert decision-making support within a public sector environment. This is a key professional role, responsible for reviewing complex cases, ensuring decisions are evidence-based, and providing professional oversight in line with legislation, policies, and safeguarding procedures.

About the Role
As an Agency Decision Maker, you will be responsible for making high-quality decisions on behalf of the organisation, reviewing complex information, and ensuring decisions are fair, transparent, and compliant with relevant statutory frameworks. You will work closely with internal teams, professionals, and partner organisations to support effective service delivery.

What You'll Be Doing

Making high-quality decisions in line with relevant legislation, policies, and organisational procedures
Reviewing complex cases and assessing information to support effective decision-making
Ensuring decisions are evidence-based, fair, clearly documented, and compliant with required standards
Providing professional oversight, guidance, and support where required
Working collaboratively with internal teams, professionals, and external partner organisations
Maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with organisational requirements
Supporting effective case management through professional judgement and analysis

What We're Looking For
We're looking for an experienced professional with strong decision-making skills and the ability to manage complex cases within a public sector or professional environment.

You'll ideally have:

Proven experience in a senior decision-making role within a relevant public sector or professional setting
Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and safeguarding procedures
Ability to analyse complex information and make sound, timely decisions
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders and professionals
Experience managing complex cases and professional assessments
Previous experience working with local authority services is desirable
Knowledge of Lancashire County Council procedures and frameworks is desirable
Right to work in the UK
Willingness to complete required compliance checks
Ability to provide satisfactory references
