Who we are

Pellizco is a contemporary Mexican restaurant and bar in the heart of Sheffield's Sharrow Vale.

Since opening, we've built a reputation for vibrant small plates, inventive tacos, and a drinks offering inspired by the depth and diversity of Mexican culture. With 34 seats inside and 42 outside, the restaurant comes alive throughout the warmer months, creating an energetic but considered dining experience that stands apart from standard casual dining.

Since 2024, Pellizco has proudly featured in both the Good Food Guide and Harden's Guide, and we're only just getting started.

As we enter our next chapter, we're making a significant investment in our people, our drinks programme and the overall guest experience. Alongside new leadership, we're refining every aspect of what we do - building stronger systems, raising standards and creating a culture centred around genuine hospitality, curiosity and continual improvement.

While we'll always be proudly food-led, our ambition is to develop a drinks programme that stands confidently alongside the very best in Sheffield. Not by chasing trends, but through exceptional product knowledge, thoughtful cocktails and consistently brilliant execution.

To help us get there, we're looking for a Bar Shift Leader who wants more than just another bartending job. We're looking for someone who takes pride in their craft, thrives on learning, and wants to help shape what Pellizco becomes over the coming years.

The Role

We're looking for an ambitious Bar Shift Leader with a genuine passion for bartending.

This isn't a role for someone who's happy making the same drinks on repeat. We're looking for someone who enjoys understanding spirits, flavour, classic and signature cocktails, and great hospitality just as much as delivering fast, consistent service.

You'll take ownership of the bar during your shifts, leading by example while helping develop those around you. Working closely with our management team, you'll play a key role in shaping the standards, culture and identity of Pellizco's drinks programme.

While everyone gets stuck in wherever needed, the bar will be your domain.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Bar Shift Leader, you'll take ownership of the bar during your shifts while helping deliver exceptional service across the restaurant.

Your responsibilities will include:

Leading bar service during busy shifts.
Delivering exceptional cocktails with consistency, precision and attention to detail.
Maintaining outstanding product knowledge across spirits, cocktails, wine and beer.
Coaching and supporting newer bartenders, helping to build confidence and consistency across the team.
Working alongside management to continually improve standards, service and guest experience.
Maintaining prep, stock, cleanliness and organisation behind the bar.
Supporting the development and evolution of Pellizco's drinks programme.
Delivering warm, knowledgeable hospitality to every guest.
Supporting the wider restaurant team whenever required.
Taking responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the venue in the absence of your line managers, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling and cashing up, keyholding responsibilities, stock management, and ensuring the restaurant is left ready for the next service.

What We're Looking For

We're far more interested in attitude than years of experience.

We're looking for someone who is:

Passionate about bartending and hospitality.
Naturally curious and always looking to learn.
Confident working in a quality cocktail bar or restaurant.
Comfortable leading a busy service.
Knowledgeable about classic cocktails and why they work.
Familiar with spirits beyond simply the brands on the shelf.
Organised, calm and reliable under pressure.
A natural leader who enjoys helping others improve.
Looking to build a career, not simply pick up shifts.

Experience with tequila, mezcal or Mexican spirits is a bonus, but enthusiasm to learn is just as important.
