Full job description

The Orthodontic Centre (Reading) Ltd is looking to recruit a full-time receptionist to work between our Reading and Theale practices.

Position Overview:

The successful candidate will be confident, efficient, well presented and hard working. The reception desk is a patient’s first point of contact and it is important to always maintain the highest level of discretion and confidentiality at all times.

Attributes/Experience :

Ability to manage front desk duties effectively
Strong customer service skills
Highly organised
Able to work in a fast paced environment
Proficiency in English
Administrative experience

Main Responsibilities:

Answer the telephone within 3 rings in a friendly, helpful and courteous manner
Dealing with any complaints that may arise to the best of your ability before passing to a higher member of staff
Responding to emails in a timely manner
Checking & making/changing appointments when necessary
Welcome all patients arriving at the practice
Observe patient confidentiality at all times
Ensure that the appointment system is efficient and accurate
Collect and record patient payments
Encourage prompt payments, chase outstanding debts when needed
Scanning of documents
Liaise with dental laboratories, dental companies and other organisations as required
Participate in opening and closing/locking up the practice and also Saturday clinics on a rotated basis

Working hours are (40hrs):

Monday 8am-4.30pm (Reading or Theale)

Tuesday 8.15am-5.15pm or 10am-7pm (Reading)

Wednesday 8.15am-5.30pm (Reading)

Thursday 8.15am-5.15pm or 10am-7pm (Reading or Theale)

Friday 7.45am-4.15pm (Reading)

With 1 Saturday morning per month on a rotational basis (Reading or Theale)

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £12.71 per hour
