Highways Operative - 157071

Business Unit: 5042 - Worcester

Location: Malvern

Summary

To carry out general maintenance works and operations, working with a Chargehand, undertaking a wide range of routine works in one of the Planned Response Teams. To respond to emergencies and call outs on out of hours on rotas as required and assist with winter maintenance activities as a second man or driver’s mate.

CSCS card if client requirement
Minimum level of every day behaviour as set out in the company behaviours matrix
Potential & interest in obtaining LGV licence

Specialist Skills

To have and be able to apply a wide range of generalist skills
To understand risk assessments and to assess according to safe systems of work
To be able to understand and carry out work as set out in a specification
Generally hold 12 months+ experience
Undertaken training on: General health & safety awareness / Risk assessment awareness / Traffic Management / Use of PDA as required
Ability to use small plant and equipment
Ability to operate mini excavator
Already hold a HGV License with CPC

General Competencies

Team player, prepared to contribute and participate fully in team work
Prepared to work varying hours to meet the needs of the business
Willingness to apply skills to a variety of different highways jobs, with changing team members
Prepared to develop and undertake relevant training and qualifications
Be able to complete record sheets, paper or electronic
Be able to take responsibility for plant and equipment
Ability to use own initiative
To understand and be responsible for own safety, plus that those around them
To be available for emergency and/or winter call outs

Contract Type: Permanent

Hours: Full Time - 40 - Monday to Friday
