At Babcock we’re working to create a safe and secure world, together, and if you join us, you can play your part as a Vehicle Maintenance Operative at our Bovington, Dorset site.

The role

As a Vehicle Maintenance Operative, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will be maintaining, operating, and driving Armoured Fighting Vehicles and other specialist platforms, delivering critical support to the Contract in a dynamic and high-impact environment.

Day-to-day, you’ll have the following responsibilities:
Perform Level 1 maintenance and repairs to vehicle-specific standards, following authorised procedures where training is provided
Conduct preparatory tasks including minor repairs, cleaning, painting, and refuelling
Support usage tracking and routine checks of stores and equipment.
Manage collection and delivery of vehicle platforms as required
Safely operate vehicles on public roads and off-road, day and night

This role is full time working 39 hours per week and is based on site at Bovington, Dorset.

Essential experience of the Vehicle Maintenance Operative:
Strong communicator, confident in representing the department during meetings and site visits
Manual handling and physical working
Must be 21 or older due to licensing requirements.

Qualifications for the Vehicle Maintenance Operative:
Full manual UK Driving Licence.

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
