Full job description

To provide a full confidential secretarial service to Consultant Paediatricians and team.

Carry out duties as defined by the Service Manager to meet the needs of the service.

To manage and prioritise own workload and work independently to defined policies and procedures.

This is a fixed term post for 12 months to cover the needs of the service

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Medical Secretary to join the busy Paediatric Department at Nevill Hall Hospital in Abergavenny.

It is essential that the post holder is an organised and motivated individual with excellent audio-typing and interpersonal skills, plus a sound knowledge of medical terminology. The successful candidate will be expected to provide comprehensive secretarial and administrative support across the department as required.

The successful post holder must be reliable and flexible to meet service needs and used to working in a busy and demanding environment, with excellent organisational and prioritisation skills. They will be able to work on their own initiative, exercising judgement to solve any problems arising.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
