Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support classroom activities and individualised learning programmes. The ideal candidate will work closely with teachers and students, particularly those with special educational needs, including individuals with disabilities and autism. This paid position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in students' lives while developing valuable skills in education and mentoring.

Duties

Assist teachers in preparing classroom materials and resources for lessons.
Support students during lessons, ensuring they stay engaged and motivated.
Provide one-on-one or small group tutoring to reinforce learning concepts.
Support students with special educational needs, including those with autism or other disabilities.
Foster a positive learning environment through mentoring and encouragement.
Help organise creative writing activities and other specialised programmes.
Monitor student behaviour and promote inclusive participation in class activities.
Assist in the supervision of students during breaks, lunch, and extracurricular activities.
Maintain accurate records of student progress and behaviour as directed by teaching staff.

Requirements

Prior experience working with children, preferably within educational or special needs settings.
Knowledge of special education practices and working with individuals with disabilities or autism is highly desirable.
Strong communication skills to effectively interact with students, teachers, and parents.
Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet diverse learning needs.
Creative writing skills to support specialised literacy activities.
Passion for mentoring and supporting children’s development.
Organised, patient, and empathetic approach to working with young learners.
Relevant qualifications or training in education, special education needs, or related fields are advantageous but not essential.

Pay: £97.68-£154.49 per day
