Full job description

Job Title: HR Assistant Manager

Basic Salary: £41,000 (potentially negotiable being dependent upon experience)

Hours of Work:

· 37.5 hours per week

· Monday- Friday

· 9.00am – 5.00pm (with a 30-minute break) although start time potentially negotiable

Holidays: 30 Annual Days + 3 x Bank Holidays (New Year’s Day, Christmas Day & Boxing Day)

Job Description: This newly created role is a rare opportunity to join Turner Price (a highly successful,

long established family business, now backed by a leading UK corporate group), at a pivotal moment in its evolution. The HR Assistant Manager will support the HR Manager in delivering a high-performance,

compliant and people focused HR service across a fast-paced foodservice logistics operation. The role

provides hands-on generalist support across all areas of the employee lifecycle, ensuring the smooth

running of day-to-day HR operations. The role is office based and designed for a capable generalist who can take ownership of key processes (excluding payroll), act as a first point of contact for employees and managers and be part of Turner Price’s future with succession planning in mind.

Responsibilities:

· Provide a professional, front line HR advisory service.

· Build good working relationships and communicate effectively with all key stakeholders, including our head office, people managers and colleagues.

· Manage onboarding and offboarding processes, including contracts, right-to-work checks, induction coordination and exit documentation.

· Maintain accurate employee records, HRIS data and personnel files.

· Prepare letters, contracts and employment changes (promotions, salary changes, flexible working).

· Coordinate recruitment activity including the raising of job adverts and liaising with hiring managers to ensure smooth and timely recruitment processes.

· Act as first point of contact for routine HR queries.

· Support the HR Manager with ER cases (absence, performance, conduct) including note-taking, documentation, and follow-up actions.

· Review documentation including occupational health referrals, disciplinary investigations and performance improvement plans.

· Coach line managers on complex ER matters acting as a trusted advisor to stakeholders to resolve employee issues and build management capability.

· Support HR strategy and key business projects ensuring consistent application of policies and

procedures.

Essential Skills:

· CIPD Level 5 (or working towards).

· Experience in generalist HR and employee relations.

· Strong knowledge of employment law, HR Policies, procedures and systems
