Overview
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Sous Chef / Head Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive culinary expertise, and a commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences. This role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee food preparation, manage kitchen operations, and ensure the highest standards of food safety and quality are maintained. The successful applicant will play a pivotal role in inspiring the kitchen team and elevating our restaurant’s reputation.

Duties

Lead and supervise the kitchen team, ensuring efficient workflow and high standards of food preparation and presentation
Oversee all aspects of food production, including menu development, ingredient sourcing, and portion control
Manage daily kitchen operations, including scheduling, training, and performance management of staff
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness standards across the kitchen
Assist in the preparation of dishes during busy service periods, setting an example for team members
Collaborate with front-of-house staff to deliver seamless service and exceptional customer satisfaction
Monitor inventory levels, place orders for supplies, and minimise waste to optimise operational efficiency
Develop innovative menus that reflect current culinary trends whilst catering to diverse dietary requirements

Experience

Proven supervisory experience within a professional kitchen environment, ideally in a similar role such as Sous Chef or Head Chef
Extensive background in food production, cooking, and food presentation across various cuisines
Strong leadership capabilities with experience managing teams in high-pressure settings
In-depth knowledge of food safety standards and best practices within hospitality settings
Previous restaurant experience demonstrating proficiency in food preparation, serving, and overall kitchen management
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively during peak service times
A passion for culinary excellence coupled with a commitment to continuous professional development
