Job Introduction
Are you a creative storyteller with a talent for creating engaging content across a range of digital channels?
We’re looking for someone to join our multi-award-winning Digital Communications team to help us bring our projects to life and reach new audiences in the West Midlands.
As a Digital Communications Executive, you will be supporting the day-to-day management of a wide range of digital tools and channels, including TikTok and our website. Your role will be to support the delivery of a wide range of innovative and engaging digital communications strategies, that will raise awareness of our work, whilst establishing us as a recognised and trusted brand for the residents of the West Midlands.
You’ll play a key role in delivering a content-first approach for our social media accounts, suggesting innovative - often entertaining or emotive treatments – to communicating the priorities of the West Midlands Combined Authority and the Mayor of the West Midlands.
No two days are the same in this role. You could be taking photos at events, filming videos showcasing the impact of our work in the real world, making TikToks on public transport, engaging with community groups on social media or writing blogs to attract organic search traffic and everything in between.
This is a great opportunity to be part of an innovative, ambitious and creative digital team. We need someone who has strong attention to detail, enjoys working collaboratively and is a creative thinker with a passion for the region.
What you will be doing

Produce and distribute a wide range of engaging digital content including video, photography, articles, social media posts, infographics etc.

Ensure content is re-purposed and adapted effectively to the style and audience of each digital channel.

Support with the development and implementation of digital communication strategies

Work closely with the Media and PR teams to ensure that stories are communicated through relevant digital channels.

Provide digital advice and creative ideas to the organisation.

Regularly review the performance of our digital content and channels by interpreting and reporting on statistics.

Ensure compliance with WCAG 2.2 accessibility legislation on our websites and digital content, as well as GDPR in the management and collection of customer data

Experience of managing websites, blogs and social media channels

Able to spot an interesting story and bring it to life in an engaging way digitally

Able to repurpose content to suit the style and audience of each relevant channel, including the website and social media channels

Location.
The location for this role is 16 Summer Lane with at least 2 days a week spent in the office.

We advertise salary ranges, with new appointments typically starting at the lowest salary point. In exceptional cases, the salary point may be adjusted to secure the best candidate.
