Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and friendly Coffee Shop Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will be the face of our café, providing exceptional customer service while preparing and serving high-quality coffee and food items. Your passion for coffee and commitment to creating a welcoming environment will enhance our customers' experience. The Cafe has just opened and is located in Locks Ride Park, we are looking for some one that can help build the brand and take the business forward.

Duties

Greet customers warmly and take their orders efficiently using Aloha POS or Micros POS systems.
Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, teas, and food items while adhering to food safety standards.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café, including dining areas, workstations, and equipment.
Handle cash transactions accurately, including cash handling and basic math for register operations.
Assist with inventory management by restocking supplies as needed and ensuring freshness of products.
Provide knowledgeable recommendations on menu items to enhance sales and customer satisfaction.
Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during busy periods.
Follow all food handling guidelines to ensure safety and quality in food preparation.

Qualifications

Previous barista or coffee experience is preferred but not required; training will be provided.
Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with customers.
Time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Basic math skills for cash handling and retail math applications.
Familiarity with food service practices, including food safety regulations and food preparation techniques.
Experience with POS systems (Aloha or Micros) is a plus but not mandatory.
A passion for the coffee industry and a desire to learn more about coffee brewing techniques is highly valued. Join us in creating memorable experiences for our customers through exceptional service and delicious offerings!
