Full job description

About the Role:

We are opening a new pastry shop and café within our established Magazzino site and are looking for a friendly, confident and experienced Barista to join our team.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about coffee, able to produce consistently high-quality drinks and confident creating latte art. Alongside preparing coffee, you will help display and sell our pastries, welcome customers, take orders and provide table service when required.

This is a varied, customer-facing role suited to someone who enjoys working in a lively hospitality environment and is happy to support different areas of the café.

Main Responsibilities:

Prepare and serve high-quality espresso-based drinks.
Produce consistent latte art.
Dial in and maintain the coffee machine and grinder.
Take customer orders and process payments accurately.
Present, describe and sell pastries and other café products.
Maintain an attractive and fully stocked pastry display.
Provide friendly and attentive table service when needed.
Clear and reset tables promptly.
Keep the coffee station, counter and customer areas clean and organised.
Follow food hygiene, allergen and health and safety procedures.
Monitor stock levels and inform management when supplies are running low.
Support the wider team during busy service periods.
Help create a warm, welcoming atmosphere for every customer.

What We Are Looking For:

Previous barista experience is essential.
Confident preparing espresso-based drinks and creating latte art.
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Comfortable selling products and making recommendations.
Willingness to provide table service and assist across the café.
Reliable, punctual and well organised.
Able to work efficiently during busy periods.
Good attention to cleanliness and presentation.
Positive attitude and a genuine interest in coffee, pastries and hospitality.
Availability to work weekends and flexible shifts.
