Full job description

We’re looking for enthusiastic and reliable Chef and Breakfast Buffet Chef to join the kitchen team at the Hunters Lodge Inn in Wincanton. Responsible for overseeing kitchen operations during shift, ensuring food is prepared safely, efficiently, and according to quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise kitchen staff during the shift.
Assign tasks and coordinate workflow among cooks and kitchen assistants.
Ensure food is prepared, cooked, and presented according to recipes and standards.
Monitor food safety, hygiene, and sanitation procedures.
Check ingredient stock levels and communicate inventory needs.
Train and support new team members.
Handle operational issues and resolve staff or production problems during the shift.
Ensure equipment is used correctly and report maintenance concerns.
Maintain productivity and meet service-time targets.
Complete opening, closing, and shift handover procedures.
