Part Time Tutor - ESOL

Ref: 001632

Contract: Fixed term 1 August 26 31 July 2027

Salary: Part-time tutor rates of pay

£24.26 to £31.30 per hour - Non-vocational Courses

£27.89 to £34.84 per hour - Vocational Courses

Hours: Various

Based: Various Lifelong Learning centres, outreach and community venues

Closing Date: 27th August 2026

Interview Date: TBC.

Role Overview:

To deliver high quality teaching learning and assessment that complies with the quality standards of the service. Course delivery will include a range of digital & business courses; accredited and non-accredited from Entry level to Level 2.

Key Responsibilities:

To prepare schemes of work, lesson plans and relevant resources for the course/s.
To complete all appropriate administrative tasks, including completion of registers, learner agreement forms, risk assessments and records that support the Recognising and Recording Progress and Achievement process (RARPA).
To set and mark learners’ work as appropriate and provide individual / group feedback to support learning in order to ensure progress.
To ensure that individual learner needs are met, and that progress is monitored, recorded and reflected in lesson planning.

Key Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you will need as a minimum:

The ability and experience to establish a person-centred approach to develop a rapport and good trusting relationship with learners.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively work alongside the learner and Curriculum Teams
