Full job description

We are a thriving GP practice serving nearly 21,000 patients, based in Westbourne, Bournemouth (BH4 9HJ). With a growing patient list, we are proud of our supportive and collaborative clinical and non-clinical teams, who share a commitment to delivering consistently high standards of patient care. We are forward-thinking and continually look for ways to innovate, improve our services, and enhance our working practices.

We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for a highly organised and detail-focused Administrator to join our friendly team. The successful candidate will play a key role in the smooth running of the practice, providing efficient administrative support and maintaining excellent communication with colleagues, patients, and external organisations. Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and a professional, approachable manner are essential.

The role is for 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with flexible start times of 8:00am, 8:30am, 9:00am, or 9:30am. You will work six hours per day and take a 30-minute unpaid break.

The role is varied but the main responsibilities include:

· Processing insurance documents

· Running medical records through the IGPR process

· Processing electronic letters

· Printing medical records

· Assisting with notes movement of patient’s medical records

· Data entry for multiple tasks

· System housekeeping

· Completing administration forms

· Regularly checking Admin email accounts and dealing appropriately with contents

· Photocopying and scanning

The essential skills are:

· Excellent communication, organisational and personal skills

· A flexible attitude with ability to quickly adapt to changing roles.

· Confident user of MS Office

· Ability to learn new systems.

· Self-motivated

· Able to efficiently prioritise.

· Logical problem solving

· Motivated and organised

· Ability to work with others.

· Ability to deliver to agreed timescales.

· Ability to handle information of a sensitive nature and maintain confidentiality.

· Accurate data entry and word processing skills
