Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Kitchen Porter to join our dynamic hospitality team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of our kitchen, ensuring a smooth operation and high standards of hygiene. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in developing their skills within the culinary and hospitality sectors. Prior experience in food preparation, cooking, or restaurant environments is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided. The role is suitable for those passionate about working in a fast-paced kitchen setting and committed to delivering exceptional service.

Responsibilities

Washing, cleaning, and sanitising dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment to maintain hygiene standards.
Assisting with basic food preparation tasks under supervision to support chefs and kitchen staff.
Ensuring the cleanliness of work surfaces, floors, and storage areas throughout the shift.
Organising and storing clean items appropriately for easy access by kitchen staff.
Supporting the team during busy periods by helping with serving or other duties as required.
Adhering strictly to health and safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment for all staff members.
Assisting with waste disposal and recycling procedures efficiently and responsibly.

Qualifications

Previous experience in food preparation, cooking, or hospitality environments such as restaurants, hotels, or catering services is desirable but not mandatory.
Knowledge of kitchen safety and hygiene standards is beneficial.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Good communication skills and a positive attitude towards teamwork.
Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to different tasks within the kitchen setting.
Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting moderate loads.
