About the Role

Are you a skilled listener who understands that supporting someone through grief isn't about "fixing" things, but about holding space for them?

High Peak CVS is looking for a compassionate, emotionally mature individual to join our team as a Bereavement Service Support Worker. Working closely with our Bereavement Service Lead, you will play a vital role in co-facilitating our support groups, managing client referrals, and expanding our vital network across the High Peak community.

Key Responsibilities

Group Co-Facilitation: Partner with the Service Lead, volunteers, and partner organisations to co-facilitate existing bereavement support groups (both in-person and via Zoom), working towards occasionally facilitating independently.
Volunteer Support: Help recruit, train, and support a dedicated team of volunteers.
Client Care: Conduct sensitive referral assessments for potential group members and make individual support calls when clients need extra care.
Community Engagement: Actively promote the bereavement service across High Peak communities and build strong relationships with statutory services and the wider voluntary sector.
Admin & Reporting: Manage day-to-day administration, maintain accurate records, and contribute to funder reports in line with organisation policies.

Requirements & Working Conditions

Local Knowledge: A good understanding of the High Peak area and its communities.
Travel: Access to a vehicle is essential, as travel is a vital part of this role across the whole High Peak region.
Flexibility: Ability to attend evening groups as required.
Practical Capability: Capable of setting up and taking down community rooms (arranging chairs, moving tables, clearing up, etc.).
Compliance: Willingness to adhere to all organisational policies and undergo relevant training/supervision.

£10,945-£12576 Actual Salary pro rata (depending on experience)
