About the Role

We are a Chelmsford-based mortgage advice company looking for an experienced Mortgage Administrator to join our team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong mortgage administration experience who is looking for excellent work-life balance, attractive working hours and a key role within a growing business.

Working just 20 hours per week (£19.23 per hour), Monday to Friday, from 10am to 2pm, you will play an important part in supporting our mortgage advisers and ensuring they can spend more of their time doing what they do best — speaking with new and existing clients.

What You'll Be Doing

Your responsibilities will include:

Submitting regulated mortgage and protection applications
Managing applications from submission through to completion
Liaising with lenders and keeping up to date with application progress
Providing clear and timely updates to clients
Understanding and interpreting lender updates and communicating these effectively
Answering incoming telephone calls and assisting clients where appropriate
Helping advisers complete mortgage capacity reports
Managing general mortgage administration and ensuring cases progress efficiently
Taking ownership of administrative tasks so our advisers can focus on client relationships and new business

About You

We're looking for someone who already has hands-on experience in mortgage administration and understands the mortgage application process.

You'll ideally have:

Previous experience working in a mortgage administration or adviser support role
Experience submitting regulated mortgage and protection applications
Good knowledge of the mortgage application process and lender requirements
Excellent communication and organisational skills
The confidence to speak directly with clients and lenders
Strong attention to detail
The ability to work independently and manage multiple cases
A proactive approach and a genuine desire to make life easier for the advisers and clients you support
