Medical SecretaryChobham & West End Medical Practice
Salary: £13.58 per hour
Hours: Full-time or Part-time considered - minimum 28 hours
Location: Chobham & West End, Surrey

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our welcoming and forward-thinking team as a Medical Secretary at Chobham & West End Medical Practice.We are a busy, patient-focused GP practice operating across two sites, committed to providing high-quality care and excellent service to our patients. We are looking for an organised, proactive and compassionate individual who enjoys working as part of a team in a fast-paced healthcare environment.Whether you already have experience in general practice or come from another medical secretarial background, we'd love to hear from you.

About the RoleAs a Medical Secretary, you will provide comprehensive administrative support to our clinical team, ensuring referrals, correspondence and patient communications are processed efficiently and accurately.Your duties will include:

Preparing and processing NHS referrals via the Electronic Referral Service (e-RS).
Typing and formatting clinical correspondence where required.
Coordinating and minuting clinical meetings
Managing consultant letters and hospital communications.
Liaising with hospitals, community services and external healthcare providers.
Chasing appointments, investigations and outstanding information.
Responding to patient enquiries relating to referrals.
Supporting clinicians with administrative tasks.
Maintaining accurate patient records using EMIS Web.
Working closely with the wider administration and reception teams.

Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
Calm and professional under pressure.
An excellent communicator with strong customer service skills.
Able to prioritise a varied workload effectively.
Comfortable using IT systems and learning new software.
Able to work independently whilst also being a supportive team member.
Committed to maintaining patient confidentiality.

Desirable Experience

Previous experience as a Medical Secretary.
Experience within General Practice or the NHS.
Knowledge of EMIS Web.
Experience using the NHS Electronic Referral Service (e-RS).
Understanding of medical terminology.
