Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Senior Care Assistant to join our 15 bedroom care home team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to our residents, ensuring their wellbeing, safety, and comfort. This role involves supervising care assistants , administering medication, updating care plans and ensuring robust documentation. Also building rapport and managing communication with residents and their families. The ideal candidate will possess experience in senior care, and a genuine passion for enhancing the lives of older adults.

Responsibilities

Deliver personalised care to residents in accordance with their individual care plans
Supervise and support junior care staff, fostering a positive team environment
Assist residents with daily activities such as mobility, personal hygiene, and medication management
Monitor residents’ health and wellbeing, reporting any concerns to the appropriate healthcare professionals
Maintain accurate documentation of care provided and update care plans as necessary
Communicate effectively with residents, families, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic care delivery
Organise and participate in team meetings and training sessions to promote continuous professional development
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies at all times
Support residents’ social activities and encourage independence where possible

Skills

Proven experience in senior or elderly care within a care home environment
Supervising experience with the ability to lead and motivate a team effectively
Strong communication skills to liaise confidently with residents, families, and colleagues
Knowledge of care plans, medication administration, and safeguarding procedures
Driving licence is desirable for assisting with resident outings or errands
IT literacy for maintaining accurate records and documentation
Leadership qualities combined with empathy, patience, and organisational skills
