Full job description

The role is on Sundays and Bank Holiday Mondays for you to manage Willowbank Holiday Park reception and sales enquiries.

In addition, there is part-time work during the week when other team members need holiday cover. And also, regular 'on call' work in the evenings.

You must live within a 20 minutes drive of Willowbank Holiday Park (PR8 3ST).

You must also be someone who yourself goes on caravan and motorhome holidays. You need to be able to describe your recent experience of going on them.

The pay is £16.50 per hour as a part-time salaried employee including holiday benefit.

It is ideal for someone who lives locally to Willowbank and wants part time work, can regularly work on a Sunday and has the flexibility to provide holiday cover during weekdays and do 'on call' duties in the evenings.

You need to be confident in managing Reception on your own when on duty on a Sunday.

You must be experienced at dealing with the public. In some instances, skills at dealing with difficult customers and defusing a situation are essential.

Your main responsibility is to answer a flow of enquiries that guests have who are staying in their caravans and motor homes. In addition, it is taking bookings on the phone. Also, holiday home owners and their families come into reception with enquiries. And there are potential buyers of new holiday homes to help.

You also need to be happy to 'muck in' and turn your hand to the variety of things that come up on a holiday park to help people including helping the warden doing 'outdoor' duties on the days you are working including helping a guest plug in an extension cable to their van, dealing with a problem in the showerblock including cleaning a toilet if needed or even doing a bit of flower bed tidying.

It is essential that you are fully digitally literate, comfortable working with a booking system and confident working with mobile phone apps and ideally with Google Workspace and WhatsApp.

In High Season (June, July, August) the 8 hours on Reception on Sunday is from 8.30 am- 5 pm with 30 minutes for lunch.

In Mid Season (April, May, September, October), it is 5 hours on Reception from 10 am - 3 pm.

In Low season (January, February, November, December): Reception is likely to be closed and there will be no work for you (but there is week day holiday cover and 'on call' work you

Bank Holidays are Easter, Early May, Late May and August and the hours are from 8.30am to 5pm.

There is additional part-time cover work during some weekdays and Saturdays (8 hour days) to cover when team members are on holiday during the year. This is will be covering a 3 days shift (Monday to Wednesday) or a 2 day shift (Thursday and Friday) or a 1 day shift (Saturday) These are predominantly dotted throughout the period from September to April (our team take their holidays outside High Season and so cover is needed then).

In addition, there is 1-10 nights of 'on call' work per month at £25 per night on Monday, Tuesday, Saturday and some other nights. From 5pm to 8am you are 'on call' to answer the intercom remotely for people needing help. It is rare that anyone needs help and even rarer that a site visit is required. If there is this pays at the hourly rate.

You will be joining a small, busy team where we work hard to give our customers a happy efficient experience. We do our best to enjoy it too.

We will interview candidates via Zoom this week (w/c 13 July) with the goal of offering the role by the end of July. With the first Sunday covered by you on Sunday 16 August (and earlier if you are available) and there will be some 'on call' nights in August. There will also be 3 days of training required - ideally during the week - in August.
