Pizza & Dough Production Chef

Location: Leyton, London (E10 7QB)
Salary: £16.00–£20.00 per hour (depending on experience and responsibilities)
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Join Fermento Lab

Fermento Lab is a fast-growing food production company specialising in authentic pre-baked pizza bases. Founded in 2025, we're on a mission to help hospitality businesses serve exceptional pizza without the challenges of recruiting and retaining pizza chefs.

From independent restaurants and pubs to street food businesses, event venues and caterers, we supply handcrafted, high-quality pizza across the UK and Northern Ireland.

We're still a small team of five, which means every person has the opportunity to make a real impact and grow with the business.

Why This Role?

If you're an experienced pizza chef who's passionate about quality but tired of working until midnight, dealing with constant service pressure and sacrificing every weekend, this could be the perfect opportunity.

At Fermento Lab, you'll still be making authentic pizza every day, but in a structured production environment with regular daytime shifts, opportunities to develop your skills and genuine career progression.

The Role

As our Pizza & Dough Production Chef, you'll be involved in every stage of the production process, including:

Preparing and managing our 48-hour dough.
Hand-stretching authentic Neapolitan pizza bases.
Operating our conveyor oven.
Producing consistent, high-quality pre-baked pizzas.
Packing products ready for dispatch.
Maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, organisation and food safety.
Working closely with the team to continuously improve our production processes.

Our pizzas are:

Hand stretched.
Made with a 48-hour fermented dough.
Pre-baked fresh in our conveyor oven.
Packed fresh with a 30-day shelf life.
Never frozen.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who genuinely cares about making great pizza.

Essential:

Previous experience as a Pizza Chef.
Good understanding of dough fermentation and pizza production.
Good spoken English.
Right to work in the UK.

Desirable:

Experience making authentic Neapolitan pizza.
Experience with the slap stretching technique.
Italian language skills.

If you don't yet have experience with the Neapolitan slap technique but have a strong pizza background and are willing to learn, we'd still love to hear from you.

Hours

Our production facility operates 7 days a week, with shifts typically running between 8:00am and 5:00pm.

This is a full-time role, and overtime is available when required.
