Full job description

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Years Practitioner to join our childcare team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for young children, supporting their developmental needs through engaging activities and personalised care. This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilise your management and leadership skills while making a positive impact on children's early learning experiences.

All candidates must have NNEC, HNC or SVQ Level 3 in Childcare Job Role is Monday to Friday 38 hours per week.

Responsibilities

Plan and deliver age-appropriate activities that promote children's physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development
Supervise and support children during play, learning, and mealtime routines
Foster a safe and inclusive environment that encourages curiosity and independence
Maintain accurate records of children's progress and daily activities
Collaborate with colleagues to ensure high standards of childcare and education are upheld
Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding children's development and wellbeing
Assist in organising daily routines, outings, and special events within the nursery setting
Support the management team in implementing policies and procedures related to child safety and welfare
Demonstrate leadership by guiding junior staff members and contributing to team meetings

Qualifications

Experience working with children in a nursery or early childhood education setting is highly desirable
Strong management and leadership skills with the ability to motivate a team
Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
Knowledge of childcare regulations, safeguarding policies, and early childhood development principles
Valid driving licence is advantageous for organising outings or home visits
A caring attitude with patience, empathy, and enthusiasm for working with young children
