Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Senior Care Assistant to join our compassionate care team. In this vital role, you will provide high-quality support and assistance to residents in a care home setting, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. Your leadership skills will shine as you supervise and mentor junior staff, contribute to care planning, and promote a positive environment that fosters independence and dignity for all residents. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about senior care who thrives in a dynamic, team-oriented atmosphere.

Duties

Deliver personalized care to residents, assisting with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and mobility, always respecting individual preferences and privacy
Supervise and support junior care staff, providing guidance and leadership to ensure consistent, high standards of care
Assist in developing, reviewing, and implementing tailored care plans for residents in collaboration with the wider care team
Maintain clear communication with residents, their families, and healthcare professionals to ensure seamless coordination of care
Use IT systems accurately to record resident information, update care records, and document any incidents or changes in condition
Support residents’ emotional well-being by engaging in meaningful activities and fostering a warm, friendly environment
Drive residents to appointments or outings using company vehicles when required, ensuring safety at all times

Requirements

Proven experience working within a care home environment or senior care setting with supervising responsibilities
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide team members effectively
Excellent communication skills to interact confidently with residents, families, and colleagues
Knowledge of care plans development and adherence to regulatory standards for elderly care
Valid driving license with experience driving various vehicles preferred for transportation duties
Proficiency in using IT systems for documentation and reporting purposes
Ability to work flexibly across shifts including weekends and evenings as needed
