Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Head Chef/Kitchen Manager to lead our culinary team for a new opening in September. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive culinary expertise, and a passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences. This role involves overseeing daily kitchen operations, ensuring food safety standards are maintained, and inspiring a team of chefs and kitchen staff to achieve excellence. The successful applicant will play a pivotal role in menu development, staff management, and maintaining high-quality food production in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

Responsibilities

Lead and supervise the kitchen team, including chefs and support staff, fostering a collaborative and motivated work environment
Oversee all aspects of food preparation, ensuring consistency, quality, and presentation meet brand standards
Develop innovative menus in line with current culinary trends and customer preferences
Manage food safety protocols in compliance with health regulations and organisational policies
Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and control food costs to optimise operational efficiency
Ensure all kitchen equipment is maintained properly and operated safely
Train new staff members on food preparation techniques, safety procedures, and service standards
Coordinate with front-of-house teams to ensure seamless service delivery
Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen area at all times
Handle customer feedback professionally and implement improvements as necessary

Experience

Proven supervisory experience within a professional kitchen environment, ideally in a restaurant or hospitality setting
Extensive culinary experience with a strong background in food production, cooking techniques, and menu creation
Demonstrable leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team
Solid understanding of food safety standards and regulations relevant to the hospitality industry
Previous experience in restaurant management or head chef roles is highly desirable
Knowledge of hospitality operations including serving procedures is advantageous
